Udawalawa is a small town in Sri Lanka but home to a strong variety of animals including elephants, water buffaloes, wild boars, crocodiles, spotted deer and birds. Udawalawa national park is one of smaller national parks in the country which gives the immense opportunities to witness higher density of elephants in smaller space.

Big heard of Asian elephants can be seen during October-January due to low water levels in the park.
